For the love of buildings.
I have always been fascinated by modern architecture. I love how structures, materials, time, use, and weather work together to create spaces for humans. The intent that has gone into the design translates to real emotions for me.
In early modernism, they would say "form follows function". But form still has a life of its own. Form can be sharp and angular; it can be soft and organic; it can be bold and loud; and it can be quiet and understated.
When I shoot architecture, I feel a bond between the architect and myself. The construction may have been completed, but I still get the opportunity to find the angle, the light and the composition that fuels my work and my expression.
The choice of black & white becomes very deliberate in architecture. It strips everything down to the shapes and the components of the image, just light and building working together.
